A third place in the making...

When I first learned about permaculture while shooting Freedom Ahead it almost immediately was a whole new way of looking at almost every aspect of life. Since then me and my SO began shaping a different future, one with more independence, real nature and no financial obligations. A life less influenced... Like the places and people that inspired us years ago, we hope Almond Avenue will become a small community of location independent people and digital nomads. Read our one page

On the plot we are also building a headquarters for the ahooha foundation out of the most carbon neutral material out there, hempcrete. 

Third places is a term coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg and refers to places where people spend time between home ('first' place) and work ('second' place). They are locations where we exchange ideas, have a good time, and build relationships. Third places, then, are "anchors" of community life and facilitate and foster broader, more creative interaction.[1] In other words, "your third place is where you relax in public, where you encounter familiar faces and make new acquaintances."[2]   Read more...
